In addition to reclaimed Threshing, we also carry some of the oldest wood in Toronto. This material consists of Old Growth Pine and Hemlock sourced from two historically significant locations – the Queen’s Wharf, dating back to 1833, and the Toronto Ferry Terminal Wharf, which was built in 1912 and is now known as the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal. These wharfs were unexpectedly discovered during excavations for downtown Toronto’s condo developments. The significance of using wood from these locations lies not only in their rich history but also in their remarkable age. It is estimated that the trees used for these pieces of furniture started growing between the 1500s and 1600s, making them truly unique and irreplaceable.
